Fairshake, a crypto industry super PAC, plans to support 32 House candidates in November’s midterm elections, with $1 million in spending for six of them. The Associated Press reported on Oct. 5 that the slate includes 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. All 32 supported legislation that was a priority for the crypto industry.

Which House candidates will get $1 million?

Fairshake named three Democrats: Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Steven Horsford of Nevada and Derek Tran of California. The three Republicans are French Hill of Arkansas, Bryan Steil of Wisconsin and Bill Huizenga of Michigan.

The group did not say how much it plans to spend on the other 26 candidates. A super PAC can raise and spend money independently to support or oppose candidates. Fairshake’s plan is for election spending, not a stated $1 million contribution to each candidate’s campaign.

What happened to the crypto bill?

The Senate blocked the CLARITY Act in September, after the bill had stalled for more than a year. The House passed it in July 2025. It would set rules for digital asset markets and divide oversight between federal regulators.

Roll Call’s report on Fairshake’s slate said lawmakers had not agreed on ethics rules covering public officials’ crypto ventures, among other issues. The Senate then blocked the bill on a bipartisan procedural vote. Fairshake is backing lawmakers who supported it as the industry looks to the next Congress to try again.

How much more could Fairshake spend?

The full amount for the House slate remains unknown. The Associated Press reported that Fairshake and its affiliated political groups had about $120 million in cash at the end of August. The group has also said it plans to spend nearly $30 million against Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio.

Fairshake spokesperson Geoff Vetter said the group backs candidates in both parties who support crypto. The six disclosed House allocations total $6 million; the group has not said whether it will add spending in House or Senate races before November.
